Qatar said more than two-thirds of the Syrian territories were not in the regime’s control, a matter which contributed to the growing of extremist ideology and terrorist groups.
This came in a speech by Jassim Al Maawda, Second Secretary, Qatar Permanent Mission in Geneva, at the 29th session of Human Rights Council under the theme ‘Interactive dialogue with International Independent Investigation Commission on the Syrian Arab Republic’. He denounced Syrian authorities’ continued rejection of allowing the commission into Syrian territories to implement its mandate.
