The Manila Bulletin (MB) is holding the eighth leg of the “Classifieds Job Fair 2015” on May 26 and 27 at the Sky Dome of SM North EDSA in Quezon City.

The two-day event comes a few weeks after the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) held 56 job fairs nationwide during the May 1 Labor Day celebration.

MB Vice President for Classified Advertising Lyne Abanilla said the publication continues to hold its own job fairs to complement the government’s job-generation activities to address both the unemployment and underemployment challenges in the country.

“This job fair aims to sustain the momentum of DOLE’s nationwide job fair this month. We continue to support the creation of jobs. This is why Manila Bulletin is here reaching out to job seekers,” she said.

Eleven companies are joining this week’s job fair for the first time. They are Manila Hotel, Ventures Link, Sudeco, First Select, SMPC, Filipinas Multi-Line, Hyundai-Commonwealth, Bayo Manila, Inc., Citibank, Asia Ceramic, and ICI System. They will join the many companies who have been participating in many of those events.  Among them are Teleperformance, Cognizant, Sitel, C3, EGS, Philippine Prudential, Concentrix, Federal Land, UHG, Tupperware, Famous Secret, EZ Rocks, RRJ, I-Connect, Unitec Pipe, Eperformaxx, Staff Virtual, Philippine Red Cross, and SPI Global.

Abanilla said there is a number of new participants in this leg, the second time that it will be held in SM Sky Dome this year. She said the success of the previous job fairs can be attributed to the effective campaign of the MB Classifieds Job Fair team.

Last April, more than 2,200 participants joined the MB Classifieds Job Fair held in SM Megamall. The exact number of hired applicants has yet to be determined according to Manila Bulletin Ortigas Branch Manager Ruben Bulaong.
