Emir and Sudanese President discuss bilateral ties

DOHA: The Emir, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani today discussed with the visiting President of the Republic of Sudan, Field Marshal Omar Hassan Ahmed Al Bashir, bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them in various fields.

Talks during the meeting held at the Emiri Diwan dealt also with a number of issues of mutual concern along with a number of regional and international issues, particularly the latest developments in the region.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Emir HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani.

On the Sudanese side, the meeting was attended by members of the delegation accompanying President Al Bashir.

The Emir hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of the Sudanese President and the accompanying delegation.

The Sudanese President and the accompanying delegation left Doha this afternoon after a short visit to Qatar. They were seen off on departure at Hamad International Airport by the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage, HE Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Qatar's Ambassador to Khartoum, HE Rashid Abdul Rahman al-Naimi and Sudan's Ambassador to Qatar Yasser Khadr Khalaf Allah.
