HMC hosts Ghabga for key healthcare teams, strategic partners

Doha: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) hosted a Ramadan Ghabga ceremony at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort and Conference Center for representatives of the Corporation’s medical and administrative teams. 

The special event was held in the presence of Dr. Abdullah Al Ansari, Chief Medical Officer; Ali Abdullah Al Khater, Chief of Corporate Communications; Hamad Nasser Al Khalifa, Head of Facilities Development and Acting Head of Business Services; and a number of officials and executives of the Corporation. 

Representatives of the Corporation’s strategic partners also attended the Ghabga, including Dr. Heba Bawadi, Director of Strategy and Program Development at Qatar University, who attended on behalf of Dr. Asma Al Thani, Vice-President of Health and Medical Sciences at Qatar University; and Dr. Marwan Abu Hijleh, the Acting Dean of the College of Medicine at QU.  

From Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar,  Haya Al Hamad, Director of Alumni Affairs attended the event; alongside Brigadier General Dr. Asaad Ahmed Khalil from the Department of Medical Services at the Ministry of Defense.

Ali Al Khater said, “The Ramadan Ghabga is a great occasion for meeting colleagues and medical workers outside the work environment and is an opportunity for social networking among colleagues.”  

He also extended his appreciation to all medical staff for their sincere efforts over the past two years in managing the  COVID-19 pandamic, which led to the success of the health sector in controlling the epidemic.

Dr. Abdullah Al Ansari then welcomed the attendees and the partners of Hamad Medical Corporation, emphasising the fruitful cooperation with them in preparing medical teams and educating and graduating future doctors, as well as important continuing collaboration in the field of scientific research. 

He also referred to the cooperation that was successfully carried out with the Medical Services Department at the Ministry of Defence in equipping the Lebsayyer Field Hospital during COVID-19 pandemic.

The meeting of the Ramadan Ghabga ceremony for Hamad Medical Corporation was characterised by a friendly atmosphere underpinned by goodwill and social cohesion among all attendees.
