He called for intensifying efforts to preserve the integrity of green spaces, gardens and places that contain local plants, considering them a national wealth that requires providing everything necessary to preserve them.

Dr. Sheikh Khalid said that this programme is consistent with the objectives of the Family and Childhood Endowment Fund, which aims to spread environmental awareness among children by holding various events and activities that increase their environmental awareness.

Head of ‘A Flower Each Spring’ Program Dr Saif Ali Al Hajri thanked the Department of Endowments for its support to the program.

He said that it is an educational, behavioural programme that targets the entire community, especially the children and the family, because of the health effects of nature in order to achieve sustainable development.

The programme seeks every year to celebrate a plant that abounds in the Qatari environment, and includes many activities, including: friends of nature, explorers, country’s bird, everyone loves the sea, nature preservers, the green library, the green tent, and other activities.
