Qatar Stars League (QSL) outfit Al Ahli yesterday beat Al Markhiya 2-0 in their second-round match of the 2017 Emir Cup at Qatar Sports Club Stadium.
In another match yesterday, Mesaimeer upset hosts Al Arabi 3-2 to advance in the most popular football tournament in the country.
At Al Arabi Stadium, Al Khor handed a 3-0 drubbing to Muaither while Al Shahania edged out Al Wakrah 5-3 on penalties after 1-1 tie in regulation time

Al Ahli will take on Al Kharaitiyat in round 3 on Friday, a day after Mesaimeer face Al Gharafa. Al Khor will meet Al Sailiya, also on Thursday.  
This year's Emir Cup matches will be held at six venues. Al Arabi Stadium, Qatar SC Stadium, Al Sadd Stadium, Al Ahli Stadium, Al Gharafa Stadium and Lekhwiya Sports Club will host the Emir's Cup matches this year.
May 3, 4 and 5 are reserved for round four action while May 13 and 14 will feature round five matches. The final of the tournament will be played on May 19.
