Scattered rains are expected to continue today, with possible thundershowers at night. Various parts of the country received light rains yesterday.
With the prevailing unstable weather, the Meteorology Department has issued warnings of thunderstorms, strong winds and high seas until tomorrow.
Today, the country is expected to have scattered rain at first and night may be thundery at times at places. Offshore the weather will be hazy along with thunderstorms. The northerly winds would blow at 8 to 18 knots going up to 25 knots at places at times inshore, while offshore the gusts can go up to 30 knots during thunderstorms.
In Doha, day temperatures would peak at 24 degrees Celsius though the maximum temperature forecast for today is 26 degrees Celsius in Abu Samra. The maximum temperature expected in Messaid, Al Wakrah and Al Khor would be 23 degrees Celsius, while Dukhan would have 22 degrees Celsius and Ruwais would have 18 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature expected in Doha, Messaid and Al Wakrah is 17 degrees Celsius, while in Ruwais the minimum temperature would be 16 degrees Celsius.
Al Khor, Dukhan and Abu Samrah would experience a minimum of 15 degrees Celsius. Tomorrow, the weather would be cloudy with scatterd rains accompanied by thunder. The wind speed could reach up to 25 knots with thunder storms and wave heights can go up to 8 feet offshore during the time.
Weather data shows Al Shihaniya received highest rainfall yesterday at 2.1mm. Al Wakrah also witnessed light rains and recorded 1.2mm, followed by 1.1mm recorded in Al Ruwais, and less than 1mm recorded in other parts of the country.
