Pakistan Education Centre (PEC) conducted Spelling Bee Contest for Girls’ Wing recently. The students were prepared and trained by Ambreen Ashraf and Nosheen Sabah prior to the competition. An elimination round was conducted for all the students from class V to VIII. The final contest had three rounds — buzz the word round, tripple sting round and win the bee round.
Three teams consisting of twelve best spellers were selected to compete in the final round.
Ayesha Safdar (Grade V), Zainab Faqi (Grade VI), Eman (Grade VII) and Bushra Wali (Grade VIII) emerged as the winners. The competition also helped in enriching the vocabulary of the students.
The students from Grade V to VIII accompanied by their class teachers (Girls wing) attended the competition. Abeer and Ambreen Riaz performed as pronouncers, while the competition was adjudicated by Vice Principal Girls Wing Zaibunissa Kazi and Riffat Tahir and was chaired by the PEC Principal Nargis Raza Otho.
“The contest would help children to love words that lead them to read and learn,” Principal said.
The heated and interesting competition was anchored by Fizza (Grade XI-C) and Zoha Sattar (Grade XI-A).
