As Souq Waqif ‘Spring Festival’ keeps on attracting a huge number of visitors, the dolphin show seems to be the most popular event. Dolphins and a seal continued to mesmerise the crowd with their spectacular acrobaticss, singing and dancing skills.

“The dolphins named Echaro and Jehhad are 3 years old. Jehhad is six months older than Echaro. The white whale is 4 years old and the seal, which is two years old, is the youngest of all. Ana Tolli and Yazaro Slaff from Russia performed with dolphins,” Valdemer, who is from Russia and hosted the show, told The Peninsula.

“We always enjoy performing in Doha. The crowd is quite welcoming and makes us want to come here again and again. Last time we came in 2015, this time the weather is windy and dolphins are not really well due to the change of water. These are animals from the northern latitudes where the water is not as salty." he said.

The first show runs from 4pm to 5pm, and the second one from 7pm to 8pm. Anna Surint, organiser from Aspire Academy, said:

“Today three girls are performing at the Dolphin show. These girls will inspire the crowd with a synchronised performance in the water. These girls are professionals from Aspire Academy. I performed in 2015 and now I am the organiser of the performing team.” Al Ahmed Square is hosting eight different games from 4pm to 10.30pm for visitors, particularly children, as well as amusement (fun and thrill) rides such as the Crazy Frog, Ranger, Caterpillar, Crazy Fire, and Extreme Swing, among others.

At the souq alley, several shows and attractions are also expected to enthral visitors such as the Blue Drummers, Alien Percussion, Toy Soldier until tomorrow, whereas Rainbow Parade, Orange Drummers, and Venice Group are on till February 3.

Abdul Aziz Nasser Theatre (Mirqab Hotel) will host a separate ‘Kids Show’ daily at 7.30pm from Friday till February 2 while Majlis Al Damah features a ‘Spring Championship Damh for professionals and amateurs until January 26.

Art lovers and artists will also have the opportunity to take part in some of the activities at the Souq Waqif Art Centre from 4pm to 10.30pm.
