The Hague: Dutch police on Tuesday arrested four men after finding a tonne of cocaine with a street value of up to 30 million euros ($33 million) hidden in a shipment of pineapples.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided a warehouse in central Raamsdonksveer where they found the haul hidden in bags which should have been loaded with pineapples.
In a statement the police estimated that the 1,100 kilos of drugs were worth between 25 to 30 million euros.
Four men aged between 22 and 28 were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and will be brought before Rotterdam magistrates on Christmas Eve, the police added.
