Cairo: The Arab League welcomed Tuesday the unanimous vote in the Greek parliament, recognizing a state of Palestine.
Assistant Arab League Secretary-General for Palestine Affairs and Occupied Territories Said Abu Ali welcomed today the Greek move.
Abu Ali also reserved special praise for the representatives of Greek people for the vote. He stressing that it is time for the rest of the world to recognize a Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital, especially after the UN recognition.
He also underlined that the Arab League works to boost these recognitions, noting that it is a step forward which supports the peace process.
