Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular weekly meeting yesterday and approved the country’s draft public budget for the fiscal year 2017, and a draft law on budget approval.
The Cabinet meeting also approved to refer all the budget's chapters and sectors as well as the draft law to the Advisory Council.
The budget's approval took into considerations several important foundations.
This included supporting the implementation of National Development Strategy of Qatar vision 2030; commitment to expenditure estimates in the public budget over the medium term; continuing focus on increasing the efficiency of public spending; continuing work on increasing the efficiency of other income (non-oil); and maintaining the credit rating of the state, reports QNA. The meeting, held at the Emiri Diwan premises, took the necessary measures to issue a draft decree approving the rules governing the logo of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
