Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) participated in a number of important regional meetings and events within its prominent role in the field of humanitarian diplomacy and the preparedness and reduction of disasters regionally and internationally. QRCS was represented by its Chairman Dr Mohamed bin Ghanem Al Ali Al Maadeed, QRCS Secretary-General Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi and Head of International Relations Dr Fawzi Oussedik.
The meetings and events included the third forum for the heads of civil defense, heads of red crescent and cross societies in the Arab countries, in line with the 16th conference for heads of civil defense in the Arab world, which was held in Tunis over three days.
The forum discussed the ways of strengthening cooperation and coordination relations in disaster relief and rescue operations, it also discusses developments and updates of the activities and missions of the red crescent and cross societies in the Arab countries. The forum also discussed management and operation of refugee camps in the Arab world and reviewed experiences of member states in facing crises and major accidents. QRCS also attended the 32nd meeting of the Islamic Committee of International Crescent (ICIC) held in Tunisia, where the meeting discussed the committee’s report, the report of Islamic Forum for International Humanitarian Law (IFIHL), the report of the regional office of North Asia and Europe Committee, the report on the Irregular Migration Program, the report of the Social Peacebuilding Center.
