The building demolition and maintenance committee at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment issued, within the last four months, 32 decisions for demolition and maintenance, including 29 decisions for demolition and three for maintenance of different buildings.
The building demolition and maintenance committee at the Ministry is a permanent entity established in line with Ministerial Decision No. 88 for 2006, which pertains to Law No. 29 for 2006.
The committee is responsible to study the condition of the buildings which require renovation or demolition. By analyzing the building the committee will decide whether partial/complete demolition or renovation is required. The decision is carried out in accordance with the administrative procedures and on the expenses of the owners as stipulated by Article No. 8 of the law No. 29 for 2006.
It is responsible for taking decisions on ramshackle buildings and those which require urgent maintenance after such cases are referred to it by the municipalities concerned.
