The Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS) will hold a conference on crises and conflicts in the Arab World on December 16 and 17,in cooperation with Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), The Hague Institute for Global Justice, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN-OCHA), and University of Jena in Germany.
The conference aims to determine the most effective ways of addressing conflicts and the reforms that can be made to facilitate dealing with conflicts in the Arab world. Some of the proposals discussed is how the empowerment of humanitarian work and reconstruction efforts can contribute in resolving crises. The conference will also address how cooperation between local, regional, and international agencies can help improve the response to crises.
There will be three main themes for the conference. The first is finding ways for local agencies to deal with a crisis.
The second is responding to aid and reconstruction efforts. The third is establishing a framework between local and regional agencies to resolve crises and cooperate in the humanitarian fields.
