Doha, Qatar: The Orphans Care Center (Dreema), one of the centers under the umbrella of the Qatar Social Work Foundation, in cooperation with Mwani Qatar, concluded the “Little Captain” programme, which aimed to introduce children to the maritime and logistics sector in the State of Qatar through a series of educational and interactive activities hosted at Hamad Port Visitor Center.
The programme comes as part of Dreema’s commitment to providing qualitative educational experiences that contribute to enriching children’s knowledge, enhancing their awareness of different professional fields, and giving them the opportunity to discover their interests and abilities through learning by practice and direct experience, supporting the centre’s vision of empowering children and preparing them for the future.
The programme included several educational and interactive stations such as learning about the history of maritime navigation in Qatar, exploring port operations and logistics services, visiting the maritime museum, participating in educational experiences inside the aquarium, as well as awareness workshops on marine life and environmental sustainability.
Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al Thani, Executive Director of Dreema, said: “We believe at Dreema in the importance of providing diverse educational experiences that broaden children’s horizons, enhance their knowledge, and connect them with vital sectors in the country.
