Doha: QNB Stars League champions Al Sadd launched their preparations for the new 2021-22 season, with their first training session at the club’s training facility. The session saw the participation of the available players, amidst the absence of several stars who are currently with the Qatar national team in the United States.

12 Al Sadd players are currently away on national duty with Qatar: Saad Al Dosari, Meshaal Barsham, Pedro Miguel, Abdelkarim Hassan, Khoukhi Boualem, Hassan Al Haydos, Akram Afif, Tarek Salman, Ahmed Suhail, Musaab Khidir, Yousuf Abdurisag and Muhammad Waad. 

Also unavailable is Salem Al Hajri, who suffered an Achilles tendon injury towards the end of last season. Wednesday’s training session was attended by club general manager Turki Al Ali, sporting director Mohammed Ghulam Al Balushi, and the administrative staff of the first team.
