Doha: Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) is partnering with 26 hospitality industry brands for the month-long Qatar Summer Festival opening here on August 1.
Hotel partners have developed special packages for visitors during the Festival, which include offers to pay for two nights and stay for three in hotels, and pay for five nights and stay for six in hotel apartments, the Authority said today.
Select outlets will offer additional incentives and these cover a variety of options including 50% discounts on all food and beverage outlets within the hotel, free meals for children (up to three children per family), free breakfasts, late check-outs and a free shuttle service between some hotels. These offers are also available to residents booking for the same period.
QTA Chief Marketing and Promotions Officer said, “The Festival is part of QTA’s strategy to grow and diversify its tourism offerings in partnership with the private sector.
“Our collaborations for the Festival extend to our partners in the public and private sector to turn what is historically a lower-occupancy period into a colourful season full of cultural events and family-friendly entertainment.”
The Festival highlight this year is Entertainment City, featuring activities for children at the Doha Exhibition Centre including skate boarding, rock climbing, as well as crafts, games and stage shows, QTA said.
Recent reports show hotels in Qatar registered a 10% increase in occupancy during the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same period in 2014. QNA
