Doha: The Ministry of Municipality's joint committee for removing abandoned vehicles and equipment yesterday launched a campaign to remove abandoned vehicles in Al Daayen Municipality. The drive is being implemented in cooperation with the Department of Mechanical Equipment, Daayen Municipality and Lekhwiya.
The launch ceremony was attended by Abdullah Majid Al Nuaimi, Director of the Public Control Department in Al Daayen Municipality; Ali Khaled Al Hamidi, Head of the Public Control Department; and Lieutenant Hamad Al Kuwari from Lekhwiya.
During the first day of the campaign, 29 abandoned cars were removed from some areas of the municipality. The campaign will continue until May 28. This campaign comes within the framework of the comprehensive plan to remove abandoned vehicles during the year 2022.
The drive aim at cleaning out all areas of the country of abandoned cars, equipment to ensure health and hygiene.
The Ministry of Municipality has called upon all owners of abandoned cars, equipment and machinery in all municipalities, to work quickly to remove them, in order to avoid legal accountability in accordance with the Public Hygiene Law.
