Ramallah: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has called on the US administration to pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their incursion into Jerusalem and its Christian and Islamic holy sites, and force them to immediately back off from harassments and obstacles they place in the way of worshippers.
In a statement, today, the Ministry condemned the brutal attacks perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the worshipers celebrating the Holy Saturday, denouncing the restrictions which it imposed to prevent large numbers of them from arriving to pray, considering that these attacks are an integral part of the Judaization of Jerusalem and its sanctities, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The statement held the Israeli occupation government fully and directly responsible for this barbaric aggression against the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and its Christian worshipers.
The occupation forces continue their violations against the Palestinians by restricting the freedom of worship and preventing worshipers from reaching the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher to practice their religious rites.
In another development, occupation soldiers targeted sheep shepherds in the eastern Khan Yunis governorate in the southern Gaza Strip, when they opened fire on them extensively amid firing of tear gas canisters at them, to force them withdraw from the grazing area, but no injuries were reported.
It is noteworthy that the occupation forces deliberately fire machine guns and tear gas canisters at shepherds and agricultural lands along the separation fence in the eastern Gaza Strip.
