Meanwhile, oil prices stabilized Monday as investors balanced US and Iranian threats to target energy facilities, which could escalate the war, against the release of millions of barrels of seaborne Iranian oil into global markets after Washington temporarily lifted sanctions.

China limits fuel price hikes as oil costs surge: govt
China has limited the amount by which the country's fuel costs can rise, the government announced Monday, to mitigate surging oil prices due to the Middle East conflict.
"To mitigate the impact of abnormal increases in international oil prices, ease the burden on downstream users, and ensure stable economic operations and public welfare, temporary regulatory measures have been adopted," China's state planner said in a statement. Read more

Oil prices plunge over 10% on Trump's Iran remarks
Oil prices tumbled on Monday after US President Donald Trump said the US was postponing strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure after "very good" talks with Iran, according to AFP. In a report, AFP stated that the international benchmark Brent North Sea crude plunged more than 14 percent to $96.00 per barrel. While the main US oil contract West Texas Intermediate also shed more than 14 percent to $84.37 per barrel.

Bahrain says it intercepted 147 projectiles, 282 UAVs since start of Iranian attacks
The General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) revealed that its air defense systems have intercepted and neutralized 147 projectiles and 282 UAVs that targeted Bahrain since the start of the Iranian attacks.
The BDF urged the public to strictly adhere to maximum levels of caution and alertness to protect their safety and to stay away from affected sites, never approach any suspicious objects, refrain from taking photos of wreckage sites, and never circulate rumors. Read more

UAE Defense Ministry reports engaging 7 ballistic missiles, 16 UAVs from Iran

Trump postpones strikes on Iranian power plants for five days
US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he has ordered the United States military to postpone strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for five days after holding "good and productive conversations" with Tehran.

Gold declines 6 percent amid Gulf regional tension
The price of gold has slid sharply, reaching its weakest level since December 11 last year, after logging its worst week in about 43 years, as the escalating US-Israel war on Iran raises inflation concerns and higher global interest rates.
Spot gold fell 6 percent to $4,214.89 per 1 ounce (28.3 grams) extending losses into a ninth straight trading session.
The metal according to Al Jazeera dropped more than 10 percent last week, its worst week since February 1983, and has also retreated more than 20 percent from its record peak of $5,594.82 an ounce reached on January 29.

Saudi Arabia announces interception, destruction of three drones in Eastern province
The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced that air defenses intercepted and destroyed three drones.
The official spokesperson for the Ministry, Brigadier General Turki Al Malki, stated that air defenses intercepted the three drones in the Eastern Province on Monday morning.

One Injured by falling debris following missile interception in UAE
The Abu Dhabi Media office said relevant authorities have responded to an incident involving debris falling in the Al Shawamekh area following the successful interception of a ballistic missile by air defence systems.
