Awqaf Ministry launches Hadith memorising competition with prizes worth QR1.5m

Doha: To create love for Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the hearts of youngsters, the Department of Endowment Affairs at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has launched 8th Al Muhadith Al Saghir (Junior Hadith Narrator) competition with prizes worth QR1.5m for students and their parents.

Under the competition, the contestants, students and their parents, will compete in memorising Hadith (prophetic traditions). The students will be given target to memorise 20, 30, 40 or 50 Hadith or a chapter of Bulugh Al Maram, a collection of Hadith. Parents can compete in memorising 50 Hadith or a chapter of Bulugh Al Maram. The student must be registered in one of the schools operating in Qatar, whether governmental or private (boys or girls) for the three stages. Each school should participate with a maximum of 12 students.

The participant must be the guardian/parent of a student registered in any government  or private school (boys or girls) for the three stages. The number of participants from a school should not exceed 15 guardians. The registration for the competition will be made through a dedicated website http://muhadeth.awqaf.gov.qa.

The registration began yesterday. The deadline for the registration is March 20, 2022. The tests for parents will be held on April 9. Tests for students will be held from April 10 to 14. The open tests for boys will be held on April 25 and for girls on April 26. The conclusion ceremony will be held on May 19. The contest will be held in cooperation with Jassim Bin Hamad Secondary School for Boys under the supervision of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affair and Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

“The competition aims to instil the love of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the hearts of youngsters, and to introduce noble morals and high etiquettes among them,” said Director of Department of Endowment Affairs Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani at a press conference.
