The World Organisation for the Renaissance of Arabic Language (WORAL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Qatar University (QU) in the framework of the organisation's keenness to strengthening cooperation with regional and international organisations for the advancement of the Arabic language in various fields.
WORAL Director-General Dr Ali Ahmed Al Kubaisi signed the agreement with President of Qatar University Dr Hassan Rashid Al Derham.
The general framework of the MoU includes all areas of cooperation for the advancement of the Arabic language, with a focus on some areas, including the completion of the research, survey and analytical studies of the reality of the Arabic language in all vital fields, the development of teaching Arabic language ways, and rehabilitation of teachers in institutions, universities and educational institutes to enhance their linguistic competence.
The MoU also includes the organisation of workshops, seminars, courses and joint trainings, along with the completion of an internationally accredited test for the efficiency in the Arabic language and activating it to be used on a large scale.
Dr Al Kubaisi expressed pleasure to cooperate with Qatar University to implement joint programmes that serve common objectives and fulfil joint aspirations in consolidating cooperation and coordination for the advancement of Arabic Language in all fields.
For his part, Dr Al Derham stressed the importance of the MoU which would contribute to the advancement and protection of the Arabic Language under the cultural globalisation.
Dr Al Derham extended thanks and gratitude to the wise leadership of Qatar which pays great attention to the Arabic language and to the social and cultural identity.
