During the recent spring school vacation Abu Samrah border post received as many as 326,686 visitors mostly from GCC states.
Some 331,407 people left Qatar between January 10 and February 11 through the same checkpoint at the Qatar-Saudi border, a senior official at the Ministry of Interior said yesterday.
Vast majority of the visitors were from other Gulf counties and the border post had intensified works to meet the rush, said Maj Jamal Shaheen Al Mannai, Vice-Chairman of the Permanent Committee of Abu Samrah border post.
