DOHA: Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Alsharbatly stole the spotlight by clinching the CSI5* 1.50m Faults & Time title as the third and penultimate Tour of the inaugural H H The Father Amir’s Prix got underway at Al Shaqab yesterday.
Partnering the 17-year-old stallion Boeckmanns Lord Pezi Junior, Alsharbatly delivered a clinical performance to secure victory in an impressive time of 64.45 seconds.
Italy’s Roberto Previtali, riding I’M Special Mess PS, finished second after clocking 66.99 seconds, while Austria’s Max Kuhner completed the podium in third place aboard Eic Cooley Jump The Q with a time of 67.46 seconds.

Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Alsharbatly clinched the CSI5* 1.50m Faults & Time title with Boeckmanns Lord Pezi Junior.
“I am very happy with the victory. It was a really difficult track. Roberto was fast, but I followed a good plan and it worked for me,” Alsharbatly said after his win.
Earlier, Qatari riders dominated the CSI5* 1.40m Two Phases, with Rashid Towaim Ali Al Marri taking top honours after clocking 26.04 seconds in Phase II aboard Navaronne.
Salman Mohammed Al Emadi finished second on Wathnan Toblerone in 26.32 seconds, while Mohammed Khalifa A Al Baker claimed third place with a time
of 26.38 seconds riding Dukhan 3.
In the CSI3* 1.40m Two Phases, Italian star Emanuele Gaudiano emerged victorious aboard Diarouge Blue PS, stopping the clock at 25.96 seconds.

Qatari rider Rashid Towaim Ali Al Marri won the CSI5* 1.40m Two Phases event.
British rider Oliver Fletcher was second on Krack Bleu C with a time of 26.99 seconds, while Qatar’s Al Emadi completed the podium in 27.10 seconds riding Wathnan Higoletta.
The CSI3* 1.35m Special Two-Phase saw a Qatari one-two, with Nasser Al Ghazali topping the class aboard Heavens Light H after clocking 29.28 seconds.
Compatriot Faleh Suwead Al Ajami settled for second place on Wathnan Qapella with a time of 29.40 seconds, while Alsharbatly finished third on Dr Scarpo in 29.74 seconds.
At the 2nd Outdoor Arena, Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Alasaker, riding Stago Cc Z, claimed victory in the CSI3* 1.25m Faults & Time with a clear round in 58.51 seconds.
Qatari riders Suhaim Hamad Al Yafei (Flash du Puits) and Sultan Salem Al Naemi (Cavallina 13) finished second and third after clocking 61.29 seconds and 65.53 seconds respectively.
Qatar’s Abdulla Ahmed A M Al Khulaifi won the CSI1* 1.10m Faults & Time aboard Quenta van de Corsendonksehoeve with a time of 47.35 seconds.
Abdulla Tamim Al Thani finished second on Cassandra 352 in 47.39 seconds, while Saudi Arabia’s Fahad Alshammari placed third aboard Le Garde with a time of 48.85 seconds.
The Indoor Arena witnessed strong performances by Saudi riders in the CSI1* 1.20m Faults & Time.
Salem Balharith claimed the title riding Lovina, while Khalid Al Hadi (Doremi du Flot Z) and Abdullah Abdul Aziz Al Alsheik (Lalla Aicha) secured second and third places respectively. The National Competition was won by Alqaqaa Tamim Al Thani aboard Goteborg Handyman.
Norah Jassim Al Thani, riding Rosi S, finished second, while Ahmad Nasser Al Kuwari placed third on Janne.
The second day of the three-day Tour continues today with nine competitions, highlighted by the CSI5* 1.55m Jump-Off.
