DOHA: QNB Stars League side Al Khor yesterday announced the signing of goalkeeper Khalifa Abubakr on loan from Al Duhail till the end of this season.
The swap deal followed goalkeeper Amin Lecomte’s recent return to Al Duhail after his loan term ended with Al Khor.
Khalifa is one of the top goalkeepers in the QNB Stars League and had served Al Duhail well. He is to soon join Al Khor training as they prepare to face Al Kharaitiyat in Week 14 on January 27.
Al Khor, who drew 2-2 with Al Ahli in Week 13, are placed eighth 11 points.
Meanwhile, Ghanaian striker Kwame Karikari joined Al Arabi from Al Markhiya till the end of this season ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 14 away clash with Qatar SC January 26.
The move came as part of the Al Arabi team management’s bid to strengthen the squad in the current winter transfer period.
The Dream Team had recently bolstered their defence by recruiting Croat Ivan Foster, in place of Tunisian Ammar Jemal, and Hamad Al Harbi.
Karikari started training along with his new team-mates — with the exception of Foster, Talal Al Balooshi and Ahmed Khalfan — under the watchful eyes of Croatian coach Luka Bonacic.
