Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has hailed the completion of the Doha Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language as a landmark cultural achievement and a sign of "fruitful Arab integration".
In a post on his official account on X, HH the Amir said Qatar was proud of the project, which he said strengthens Arab peoples' attachment to their cultural identity while encouraging openness to the modern world and its tools "with confidence".
The Amir also thanked all those who contributed to the project, describing it as a major civilizational achievement. He said both its completion and the stages of its development reflected effective and constructive cooperation across the Arab world.
The Doha Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language is considered one of the most ambitious linguistic projects in the region, tracing the development of Arabic words and meanings across centuries, based on documented historical usage.
