Shantiniketan Indian school organised it 13th Annual Day on Tuesday in its Barwa campus.
The Annual Day titled ‘Together we can change the world’ was inaugurated by Khalid Al Sayed, Editor-in-chief, The Peninsula, at a function presided over by K C Abdul Latheef.
In his inaugural address, the chief guest expressed his pleasure to receive a guard of honour by the school’s Scouts and Guides.
“Children have immense potential and creativity. It is to be identified and developed,” said Suman Sharma, Second Secretary, Indian Embassy, Qatar, in her key-note address.
Releasing the school’s newsletter The editio princeps of SIS news ‘n’ views’ P Surendran, eminemnt novelist and writer in Malayalam, mentioned about Qatar’s noble history and the existence of SIS in such a historical background. “The very word ‘Shantiniketan’ has marked its own place in the history of Indian literature. I understand Shantiniketan Indian School prevails its esteem by imparting quality education for a better world,” he added.
Muhammed Ismail, Principal of SIS, in his annual report, presented school’s milestones and achievements statistically, since the establishment of the school.
A variety of cultural programmes with the support of LED technology were staged. More than 700 students participated in a gala of events.
