Doha, Qatar: On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, ‘Prove It Matters’, a global campaign created by the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict (OSRSG CAAC)will be implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organizations (UNESCO),the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museumand the Education Above All (EAA)in Doha, Qatar.

Hosted at the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, the event marks the first global activation of the campaign, bringing together key partners from diverse sectors, such as advocacy, education, culture and sports. The collaboration underscores the critical role of sports and cultural institutions in advancing peace, protection and meaningful participation for children, especially those affected by armed conflicts.

At its core, “Prove It Matters” is a call to listen to children, to uphold their rights and to elevate their voices in global conversations on peace and security. The campaign invites childrenaround the world to create origami doves bearing their messages of peace, unity and hope. These doves will be collected throughout the yearand ultimately assembled into an art exhibition at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

By taking part in the campaign, children in Doha join their peers around the world in sending a united message: peace must be more than just a promise, it must be a reality and together we need to prove it matters. Their voices, expressed through art, serve as a powerful reminder of our collective obligation to protect and empower the next generation.
