Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, has concluded its intensive Quranic course in Madinah, held from July 2 to 13, 2026, with the participation of 30 Qatari students from the Al Noor Quranic Educational Centre and Al Emadi Model Educational Centre.
The course was organised as part of the ministry’s efforts to nurture a distinguished generation of Quran students who combine excellence in memorisation and recitation with strong Islamic values and character.
It also aimed to strengthen young people’s connection with the holy Quran through a comprehensive educational and spiritual environment.
Hosted within the grounds of the Prophet’s Mosque (Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi), the programme featured intensive Quran memorisation and revision sessions, educational lessons, cultural activities, and recreational programmes designed to enhance students’ academic, behavioural, and personal development. The unique spiritual atmosphere of Madinah and the Prophet’s Mosque played a significant role in enriching the participants’ experience and strengthening their attachment to the Quran.
At the closing ceremony, the ministry honoured students who achieved the highest evaluations in memorisation and revision, recognising their commitment, dedication, and outstanding performance throughout the course. All participants also received encouragement awards aimed at promoting positive competition and motivating them to continue their Quranic journey.
According to the ministry, the course formed part of an integrated educational programme focused on producing students distinguished in Quran memorisation and recitation, instilling a love of the Quran among young people, and strengthening values such as discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and mutual respect. The programme also introduced participants to the virtues of Madinah and the Prophet’s Mosque and highlighted the etiquette associated with visiting these sacred sites.
The course achieved several notable educational and spiritual outcomes. Students were able to consolidate and refine their memorisation through intensive revision sessions conducted in the spiritually uplifting environment of the Prophet’s Mosque.
Some participants succeeded in completing revisions of their memorised portions of the Quran more than three times during the course.
In addition to Quranic studies, the programme included educational lectures on the lives of the Prophet’s (PBUH) companions, the virtues of Madinah, and the importance of maintaining a lifelong relationship with the Quran.
Participants also took part in cultural competitions and a variety of activities that enhanced their motivation and engagement while helping them develop valuable social and personal skills.
The students visited a number of prominent Islamic and historical landmarks in Madinah, including Quba Mosque, the Seven Mosques, Mount Uhud, and the Uhud Martyrs Cemetery. These visits provided an opportunity to learn more about the Prophet’s (PBUH) biography and Islamic history while strengthening their connection to the city’s rich religious heritage.
