QOC’s Ramadan tournaments for men and women end successfully

DOHA: Ramadan tournaments organised by Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) proved to be a great success which featured participation from men and women.

The week-long tournaments included futsal, table tennis and billiards. 

Two matches were held on the final day of the QOC futsal tournament in which the IT department defeated Financial Affairs 2-1, while the Secretariat General and Administrative Affairs drew 1-1. The draw allowed Secretariat General to remain top of the standings hence claiming the title, with Administrative Affairs second ahead of Sports Affairs. IT department and Financial Affairs finished fourth and fifth respectively. 

The QOC futsal championship drew in many spectators and fans from the QOC staff and the public. 

The women’s tournament was held at Al-Dana Club, and Dana Al Manai, tournament supervisor was delighted with the number of people who had taken part.

Al Manai stressed that the key objective of staging this tournament was to strengthen the relations between the QOC employees and encourage more women in taking part in sport. THE PENINSULA
