Doha, Qatar: As part of its efforts to empower national talent and enhance its readiness for the labour market, and under the theme “Empowering Qatari Talent Towards a Promising Professional Future”, the Ministry of Labour, represented by the National Workforce Employment Department and the Qualifying and Skills Development Department, participated in the Graduate Career Path Forum, organised by the British Council with the support of HSBC Qatar and in cultural partnership with Msheireb Museums.

The forum targeted university and college students and graduates in Qatar, particularly those specialising in business administration, economics, accounting, finance, banking, and related disciplines. It also welcomed Qatari graduates and children of Qatari women returning from universities abroad, job seekers, and individuals interested in pursuing careers in the financial and banking sectors.

The forum aimed to support employment and professional development by providing career opportunities with HSBC Qatar, thereby connecting graduates and job seekers with opportunities available in the private sector. The programme also included a panel discussion entitled “Sustainable Finance and Qatar’s Future Economy”, followed by a networking session and direct engagement with HSBC’s Human Resources team. Participants were also given the opportunity to submit their CVs electronically through a dedicated link managed by HSBC and to meet HR representatives to learn more about available career opportunities.

In his remarks, Dr. Waseem Kotoub, Director of the British Council in Qatar, emphasised the importance of such events in supporting young people’s career development. He noted that bringing graduates and young professionals together with leaders from various sectors creates a gateway to real opportunities.

Mohammed Al Sultan, Head of Human Resources at HSBC Qatar, said: “Investing in the development of human talent is a fundamental pillar in building a more resilient and sustainable future.
