Doha: As part of its continuous efforts to foster social bonds among its staff, Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) launched the third season of Qatar Rail Football League (QRFL) as a token of appreciation for efforts of its employees during Ramadan.
This year, the league is part of Qatar Rail’s social initiative ‘This Ramadan: A simple thank you’ for its workers invited to attend football matches and experience a great time with friends.
Following success in the past two years, this year’s tournament is the biggest, gathering 18 teams from the company’s management, employees, contractors and partners.
The tournament to celebrate the month of goodness and giving, promoting sportsmanship and solidarity among Qatar Rail’s family, began on June 19 at Qatar Sports Club.
Engineer Saad Al Muhannadi, CEO, Qatar Rail, said: “There is no better time than Ramadan to meet together in good spirits. Activities, such as the league, give us the opportunity to enhance internal communication and team spirit among our staff, management and project partners.
“We are grateful for hard work and efforts our team has put into realising our projects during the past year. Today, we are pleased to host the league to strengthen ties and show appreciation to everyone’s contribution.”
