Athens: Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council HE Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti, currently visiting Greece, met with First Vice-President of the Hellenic Parliament HE Ioannis Plakiotakis.
During her visit, Her Excellency also met with HE Chair of the Standing Committee on Defense and Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament Dora Bakoyannis; HE Chair of the Greek-Qatari Parliamentary Friendship Group Stefanadis; and HE Special Envoy of the Greek Prime Minister for the Ocean and a member of the Hellenic Parliament Dionysia-Theodora Avgerinopoulou.
The meetings explored bilateral cooperation between the Shura Council and the Hellenic Parliament along with ways to strengthen and develop it in various parliamentary fields.
They also discussed mechanisms for enhancing the role of the two parliamentary friendship groups as well as a number of topics of common interest and emphasized the importance of strengthening parliamentary cooperation and dialogue in regional and international forums.
The visit of the Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council to Greece aims to strengthen parliamentary cooperation relations, exchange experiences and expertise in the parliamentary field and discuss ways to support joint coordination between the two sides in this context in regional and international forums.
