Doha, Qatar: Minister of Labour H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri met a number of ministers and senior officials participating in the Doha Dialogue on Labour Mobility between the Gulf states and African Countries yesterday.
The Minister met separately with UAE's Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation H E Dr. Abdulrahman Abdulmannan Al Awar; H E Samba Sy, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security of Senegal; H E Betty Amongi, Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development of Uganda; H E Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Minister of Employment and Labour Relations of Ghana; and H E Ruba Jaradat, Regional Office Director for Arab States at the International Labour Organization. They discussed aspects of joint cooperation in the labour sector, ways to enhance and develop them, as well as exchanged views on the importance of the “Doha Dialogue” and its role in supporting regional cooperation efforts and partnerships aimed at improving the recruitment of workers from African countries to the Gulf states, Jordan, and Lebanon.
