Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has recorded a violation by a delivery company for advertising discounts without obtaining prior authorization.
In a social media post, the Ministry stated that the company announced discounts without obtaining prior approval from the Department of Specialised Licensing and Market.
The ministry took legal action against the violator and referred it to the relevant authorities. The company has been levied a fine of QR10,000.
The delivery company's actions constitute a violation of Minister of Economy and Commerce Decision No. 311 of 2018 on sales at reduced prices.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying inspection campaigns to address violations, safeguard consumer rights, and strengthen transparency in market transactions.
