Moscow: Four people, including a child, were injured when part of a residential building collapsed in a Ukrainian attack on the Samara region of Russia.

Russian news channel (Russia Today) reported that Ukrainian forces launched a drone strike at dawn today, causing part of a residential building in the city of Syzran in Samara to collapse.

According to the press office of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, four people were pulled from the rubble during the search and rescue operation at the site.

Initial reports indicate that two more people, one of them a child, may still be trapped.

Clashes between Russia and Ukraine have continued to escalate since the United States became preoccupied with its war in the Middle East, and the chances of reaching an agreement between the two countries to end the fighting have diminished, as each clings to its conditions before sitting down at the negotiating table.
