Doha: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud left Doha yesterday for Jakarta to represent Qatar in the Asia-Africa Summit 2015, to be held with the participation of leaders from Asian and African countries.
The summit, from April 22 to 23, will focus on the need to show moral support for the Palestinian people who live under the grip of the Israeli occupation, as well as issues of concern to African and Asian sides, particularly with regard to strengthening the economic partnership.
The summit will be followed by the commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the Asian-African Conference (Bandung Conference) that laid the foundation for the non-aligned movement, as well as the 10th anniversary of the New Asian-African Strategic Partnership signed by the Member States in 2005 in Bandung.
Doha: Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Major General Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah met here yesterday with the French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and his delegation. They discussed bilateral relations. French Ambassador Eric Chevallier and a number of Qatari Armed Forces senior officers attended the meeting.
Nouakchott: Mauritanian Prime Minister Yahya Ould Hademine met Qatar’s Ambassador to Mauritania Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Ajaj Al Kubaisi. They discussed bilateral relations and means to develop them.
