Baghdad, Iraq: Iraq has extended its airspace closure for an additional three days, the country's aviation authority reported in a statement on Sunday.

According to the statement carried by Iraqi News Agency, all inbound, transit, and outbound flights will be suspended from Sunday afternoon until Wednesday afternoon.

The statement added that the move is a temporary precautionary measure based on the ongoing assessment of the security situation and regional developments, which will be further reassessed as the situation evolves.

The closure of Iraqi airspace was initiated in early March 2026 as a temporary precautionary measure due to heightened security concerns and regional tensions.
