A wide array of media and research projects produced by Northwestern University in Qatar students will be showcased and celebrated in a special event at the university this week.
The annual NU-Q Media and Research Awards is a platform to recognise outstanding student work in film, photography, journalism, and research. Projects will be selected for an award from 10 categories, which include: creative writing, documentary, fiction, independent writing, journalistic writing, multimedia, news, and research.
In an open session, nominated students will present their submissions to a panel of judges and other attendees. Judges and visitors will have the opportunity to ask students questions about their product production journey and what they learned from creating it. Students will take turns to present research papers, films, photography, and multi-media projects. The session, which is open to the public, will take place between 2.30pm and 6pm, at the HBKU Student Center Cinema in Education City.
Submissions are adjudicated by selected faculty and industry leaders. The presentation of awards will be made at a ceremony that evening, which will also be held at the HBKU Student Center in Education City.
