Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France---Kristina Vogel of Germany retained her women's sprint title at the Track Cycling World Championships on Saturday.
Vogel beat Elis Ligtlee of the Netherlands in the final while last year's runner-up Zhong Tianshi of China edged out Australia's Stephanie Morton for bronze.
Kazakhstan-born Vogel, 24, beat Ligtlee by the narrowest of photo-finishes in the first run of their final -- she officially won by one thousandths of a second -- before dominating the second.
It was the Olympic team sprint champion's sixth world title in all.
