Doha: Qatar Malayalees, the largest social media collective of Malayalis in Qatar, has announced Qatar Pooram Season 2. The official announcement of “Qatar Pooram 2026”, the festival of Malayalis in Qatar, was made at a press conference held on Monday, attended by representatives of Qatar Malayalees, 974 Events, and the main sponsors.

Qatar Pooram Season 2 will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Ideal Indian School, Abu Hamour. The organizers expect enthusiastic participation from the Malayali community in Qatar in this grand celebration of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage.

Blending Kerala’s traditional music, dance, art, and a wide variety of cuisines, the festival will become a major platform for the Malayali community to come together. Arrangements will be made at the Ideal Indian School to recreate the essence of Kerala’s Pooram grounds, strictly within the legal framework of the country.

Cultural performances representing Kerala’s heritage—such as traditional dances, music bands, Muttippattu, Kaikottikali, Panchari Melam, band performances, Oppana, Kolkali, and more—will add vibrancy to the Pooram.

Food stalls offering nostalgic flavors, mehndi application, clothing stalls, face painting, and entertainment programs for all age groups will also be part of the event. In addition, the Pooram venue will provide opportunities for business and community networking, as well as a platform to strengthen connections among cultural and social organizations.

The festival will take place from 2pm to 11pm. The official inauguration ceremony, scheduled at 7:30pm, will be attended by distinguished guests and representatives of various organizations.

The organizers stated that Qatar Pooram Season 2 is not just a festival, but a celebration of traditions and the unity of the Malayali community in Qatar. Qatar Malayalees has invited the general public, business establishments, and organizations to participate and make this cultural event a grand success.

At the press meet, speeches were delivered by Qatar Malayalees representative K.T. Bilal, 974 Events partner Russell, sponsors including Jaffer Kandoth (Managing Director, Marza Group), Nishad (Venue Partner, C Shore Cables), Althaf (Riyadh Medicals), Ilyas (Century Restaurant), and Tenny Simon (Chef Trios). Representatives from Radio Suno and Qatar Malayalees admin members were also present.
