Doha, Qatar: The Deanship of Student Affairs at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies  (DI) organised the ninth edition of its Career Fair yesterday, with the participation of around 30 public and private entities representing vital and diverse sectors.

These included education, health, finance and business, journalism and media, as well as service sectors and other important fields of employment in the country.

The fair was opened by Dr. Abdelwahab El-Affendi, the President of the DI, Dr. Abdelwahab El-Affendi, with the participation of the Dean of Student Affairs and the deans of the schools of DI, and aimed to provide an interactive platform enabling the Institute’s students and graduates to explore the most prominent job opportunities available in the Qatari labor market. It also allowed them to learn about the various vacancies offered by participating organizations, in addition to exploring training and qualification opportunities aligned with their aspirations and future career paths.

In this context, Aliaa Chbaroo, Career Advising and Student Skills Development Specialist at the DI, explained that the Career Fair is one of the most prominent annual events organized by the Career Advising Services under the Deanship of Student Affairs.

She described it as a well-established institutional milestone reflecting the Institute’s commitment to enhancing students’ readiness to transition confidently and knowledgeably into the labor market. She added that the fair serves as an effective bridge for direct communication between students and leading institutions in Qatar, offering them the opportunity to obtain accurate and reliable information from its original sources about job nature, career paths, and employment requirements, thereby helping guide their future choices on clear and realistic foundations.

On the sidelines of the fair, which is held annually at the Doha Institute campus, a series of introductory and specialized training workshops was organised. These were delivered by specialists and representatives of participating entities and aimed at enhancing students’ readiness for the labour market.
