Doha, Qatar: Career Advising Services of the Student Affairs at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies organized the seventh career fair of the DI on Monday 22 January 2024 with the participation of 47 institutions from both the governmental and the private sectors in Qatar.

The event, which is held annually, was opened by Dr. Abdelwahab ElAffedni, President of the DI, and Mrs. Eman AlSulaiti, Executive Director of the Administrative and Financial Sector.

The DI Career Fair is the appropriate platform for DI students and graduates to learn about the most prominent opportunities available in the local labor market, provide them with direct contact with different organizations and institutions, and allow them to ask for clarifications if any as well as identify the vacancies and training opportunities that fit their future career orientations.

In this context, Mrs. Eman AlSulaiti, said: “The importance of the career fair is that it became an annual tradition of the Doha Institute, connecting the DI students and graduates with the Qatari labor market, and understanding its needs and requirements. The fair also provides training opportunities for the existing students. And it serves as a platform to familiarize participants with DI specializations and academic programs”.

Student Career Advising & Skills Development Specialist at the DI, Mrs. Aliaa Chebaro, clarified that the function of the career advising services is to provide the tools required for students to explore the local labor market and connect with it, to find the job that fits best each one’s qualifications and capabilities.

She pointed out that 47 organizations participated in the event this year from different governmental and private sectors like education, business, journalism and media, social work, services, technology, and others.

It is worth mentioning that several workshops and accompanying events were organized on the sidelines of the fair including a workshop on ( How to best use the LinkedIn platform on the professional level?), and a presentation on the training opportunities offered by the Ministry of Justice.

The Career Fair was also preceded by a workshop titled (Building your CV) to help students develop their CVs, refine their job search techniques and improve their choices and job applications as relevant to their interests and aspirations.
