Secretary-General of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Dr Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari has launched a masters degree programme in sports law by Qatar Olympic Academy.
A total of 14 people can enroll in the one-year program. The International Olympic Committee, the Asian Olympic committee, and the ANOC are cooperating with QOC for this programme. Speaking at the launch, Al Kuwari said that they were proud to get approval to offer the programme, the first of its kind in the Middle East. He noted that Qatar overcame a number of challenges to make this masters degree programme possible.
The Secretary-General said that it was the Olympic Academy's idea to introduce the programme given the increasing number of incidents in the region that requires legal experts in sports law.
