Mandarin Oriental achieves ‘Green Key’ certification for third year

Doha: Mandarin Oriental, Doha re-certified anew for the third consecutive year with Green Key in 2023.

The Green Key certificate is the leading standard for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry. 

Mandarin Oriental, Doha is committed to operating responsibly and managing its environmental impact and social commitment through its ongoing perusal in achieving Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s Sustainability Goals and guiding principle to ‘Act with Responsibility’.

The hotel is proud to highlight some key initiatives which include eliminating all single-use plastic items across all areas following a pledge made by The Group to eliminate single-use plastic from its portfolio. In addition to achieving responsible procurement and consumption for agricultural commodities (coffee, tea, vanilla and cocoa), FSC certified paper used and compliant with no endangered seafood used from 19 types identified by The Group.

This prestigious eco-label represents a commitment by businesses that their premises adhere to the strict criteria set by the Foundation for Environmental Education. The high sustainable standards expected of Green Key establishments are maintained through rigorous documentation and frequent audits.
