Qatar bags 3 medals in Arabic language competitions in Sharjah

Doha: Qatar’s team received a gold medal and two silver medals in the Arabic language competitions in its fourth session 2021, which was held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The competitions were held under the patronage of Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah H H Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi.

A student Amna Muhammad Al Naimi from Al Bayan Secondary School won the gold medal, while the two students, Hajar Abdullah Al Jumaili from Al Arqam Academy, and Al Maha Muhammad Al Hajri from Umm Ayman Secondary School won two silver medals.

The marathon competitions held over two consecutive days, with the participation of 21 students from the member states. The competitions were held under the slogan ‘In Arabic We Create’ within the activities of the Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States, the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States.

These competitions aim to raise educational level of students and teachers in the Arabic language and activate the role of institutions concerned with language teaching and learning in the member states of the office.

It also aim to strengthening loyalty and belonging to the Arabic language in young people, stimulating talent and linguistic creativity, and opening the field of competition among creative and outstanding students. At the closing ceremony, the heads of the participating delegations, members of the Scientific Committee and the students who won gold, silver and bronze medals were honoured.
