Doha: Qatar Tourism has concluded its successful participation at the International Cruise Summit(ICS) 2025, held in the Spanish capital Madrid from November 18 to 19, at the Hotel Meliá Castilla.

Now in its 14th edition, the summit is recognised as one of the most prominent annual events in the cruise industry, bringing together leading figures and experts from cruise lines, ports, destinations, suppliers, and media to exchange insights and discuss the future of the sector.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Qatari delegation held a series of meetings with senior decision-makers and cruise itinerary planners from leading international cruise companies.

During the summit, Chief of Tourism Development Sector at Qatar Tourism Omar Abdulrahman Al Jaber participated in a panel discussion titled “Cruise Destinations: The Real Economic Impact Blue Economy” alongside global cruise industry experts. The session, moderated by Gemma Greenwood, Director of Content Inc., explored the latest global trends and developments in cruise tourism.

In his remarks, Al Jaber stated, “Qatar is committed to strengthening its position as a premier cruise destination in the Gulf region by expanding partnerships with international cruise lines and offering integrated tourism experiences that blend culture, entertainment, and world-class events. Developing the cruise sector is a key pillar of our tourism strategy, contributing to the national economy and enhancing Qatar’s reputation as a leading global destination”.

Last week, Qatar Tourism announced the launch of the 2025/2026 cruise season with the arrival of the luxury vessel MSC Euribia at the Doha Port Cruise Terminal. The season, running from November 2025 to May 2026, is expected to see 72 cruise calls, including 40 transit calls, 15 turnaround calls, and three inaugural visits to Qatar.
