Sheikha Hind meets Qatari female athletes at Asian Games

Nagoya: A member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), H E Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani yesterday met Qatari female athletes participating in the 20th Asian Games – Aichi-Nagoya 2026, during her visit to Qatar House in Nagoya.

The meeting brought together female athletes from Qatar’s national teams in volleyball, shooting, table tennis and 3x3 basketball. During the meeting, H E Sheikha Hind spoke with the athletes about their experiences in Japan, their preparations for the Games and their aspirations for the upcoming competitions.

She praised the athletes for their efforts and dedication, urging them to remain focused throughout the competitions and give their utmost as they represent Qatar at the continental sporting event.

She also highlighted the continued development of women’s sports in Qatar and the important role Qatari female athletes play in inspiring future generations.

The athletes, in turn, expressed their appreciation to H E Sheikha Hind for her support and interest, affirming their commitment to delivering strong performances and doing their utmost to achieve positive results and raise Qatar’s flag high at the Games.

Qatar is participating in this edition of the Asian Games with a delegation of 243 athletes, including 184 men and 59 women, competing across 26 sports.
