Doha: HE Mr. Ibrahim bin Ali Al-Mahandi, Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, met with Mr. Amer Al-Ali, Chairman of the Central Commission for Control and Inspection in the sister Syrian Arab Republic, along with the accompanying delegation, on the occasion of his visit to the country.
During the meeting, possible areas of cooperation between the oversight bodies in the Ministry and the Central Commission for Control and Inspection in Syria were reviewed, as well as ways to enhance and develop them.
The delegation also reviewed a presentation on the competencies of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Unit at the Ministry of Justice, during which the efforts exerted by the unit in monitoring and inspecting cases related to combating money laundering and terrorism financing were discussed.
At the conclusion of the presentation, the Syrian delegation commended the efforts of the Ministry of Justice and its pioneering legal experience, and expressed its hope to enhance joint work, exchange expertise and information in legal and supervisory fields, share mechanisms that ensure strengthened oversight and combat corruption and money laundering, and take appropriate measures to develop legal work between the two brotherly countries.
